Polish Folk Costume

Soooo.. my mom, who initially didn't believe in the whole dress-up-games thing, has since then been convinced otherwise.. so much so that she herself decided to make a game O_o

So without further ado, here's my mom's Polish Folk Costume dress up.

Soooo.. what do we think, lol? And be nice to my mom! XD

  1. It's nice that your mum made a game! :)
I like folk costumes as a theme.

Suggestion: since the pieces of clothes you use to make each region's costume disappear after you've used them, maybe make it so that by clicking on that region's circle they reappear again? Or only make the clothes fade out instead of disappearing completely. Otherwise it's not possible to make any outfit when you've finished making every region without reloading the game.

  2. ooh, nice game! i absolutely love folk costumes, and all of the pieces your mom made are so detailed and distinct! they really give you a good idea for the subtle regional variances. i think that it's great that your mom made ones for all the different regions of Poland. i think something most people take for granted is that not everyone in a country wears the same sort of folk costume. i.e. most of my friends refuse to believe me that not everyone in Germany wears laderhosen and dirndls.

mostly, though, i love that this is for Poland. a good portion of my family emigrated from an area that's now Poland. i think the area they were from is now called Kwidzyn, so... I guess that would put me wearing something like the Kaszubski outfit?

if you thing your mom's up to it, maybe suggest she make more games?

  5. I had a great time making the girl look pretty and the boy look like an idiot! LOL. My mum wouldn't know where to start when it came to making dress ups! Your mum did an awesome job.

I'd love to have a go myself, all I need is Flash and to learn how to use it! XD

  9. It's beautiful!
I enjoy it very much since I do folk dance. I've never learned Polish dances but I like those costumes =)
And actually some parts of them remind me of hungarian, russian and romanian costumes. I like it ^^
As many people said, you can tell your mum it's very well done!

  12. I think it's adorable, but the putting-the-right-costumes-together thing is a little confusing. I just can't seem to get it. :/

Ah well - it's still fun, and I liked it. :)

  13. No one laugh, but that was HARD!! I just finished, it took me like 45 minutes for me to get all the costumes.. ^^; But yeah, it's really pretty. I wish their were more ways to personalize the doll, like hairstyles and stuff. But still, overall very good. :)

Hehe I think it's cute. Although the bottom lip on the lady is sorta messed up, I think she did a splendid job. I can't wait until the candyland dressup!!! I'm really interested about that one. Would you mind leaking who you are working with on Candyland so I can see their other artwork??

  15. I loved it. Then again, I'm a sucker for folk costumes. I found that it's not that hard to figure out the correct combinations if you eliminate the more obvious ones first. Certain pieces are very distinct.

I particularly like the fact that there is a dark-haired option. Not everyone realizes that not all Polish people are blond. (My grandfather is Polish and has ink black hair.)

  16. I LOVE it!!!!! I love folk costumes, especially European ones so this was amazing. Especially the educational element teaching you about what costumes belong to which region. LOVED it!! :D
